Tiny adjustable MP1584EN buck converter that efficiently steps 4.5–28 V down to a lower voltage at up to 3 A peak.

Built around the MP1584EN switching regulator, this mini buck converter takes 4.5–28 V DC in and produces an output adjustable from about 0.8 V to 20 V with the onboard trimmer. Because it switches rather than burning off excess voltage, it runs far cooler than a linear regulator, handling around 2 A continuously and 3 A peak with adequate cooling. Set the output with a multimeter before connecting your load, keeping it at least a volt or so below the input. Its small footprint makes it popular for powering ESP32 boards, sensors, LED strips and RC electronics from 12 V or 24 V supplies.
